Coach Ortman enters her 11th year at Olathe Northwest. In addition to her basketball duties at ONW, Coach Ortman teaches College Prep English IV, Senior AP Literature, AVID and is the head coach of the girls' golf program here at ONW.

Raised in Wyoming and Oregon, Ortman was an All-state volleyball and basketball player. She was also a state triple jump champion, leading her track & field team to back-to-back state titles.

Ortman earned her B.A. in English from Fort Hays State University. While completing her degree at FHSU, she was a 3 year starter at the shooting guard position for the Lady Tigers Basketball Squad. She was selected as a two-time Academic All-America during her years as a Tiger, graduating with a 4.0 GPA in 1998. Ortman also has a masters’ degree from Emporia State University.

Before coming to ONW, she was the girls’ basketball head coach at Basehor-Linwood HS where she also coached varsity volleyball and track & field over a 6 year span.

Coach Ortman and her husband Matt were married in June of 2012. The Ortmans have two sons (Zach & AJ).
